Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 October 2026
In short: the quantumecusti app also works without an account: in that case what you enter about your vehicles stays on your phone, in an encrypted database, and we don't see it. If you create an account, your vehicle data is also stored on our server, in Italy, to sync it, use it from the website and share it with the people you choose. The app is free and shows offers for our own products and from partner companies, chosen on your phone based on what your vehicles need: nothing that identifies you reaches us or our partners. To know how many people use the app we collect anonymous statistics, without identifiers. We don't sell data and we don't use advertising cookies, profiling or advertising identifiers.
1. Data controller
Ditta La Cibernetica di Luigi Conte — VAT IT04207270754
Via Rosmini 37, 73046 Matino (LE), Italy
For any request about your personal data: info@lacibernetica.it
2. The app without an account
In the app you enter your vehicles (name, make, model, year, fuel, kilometres, miles or engine hours), fill-ups, expenses, deadlines and checks. With this data the app calculates what each vehicle costs you and reminds you what needs doing.
- Where it is stored: only on your device, in an encrypted database. The encryption key is created on first launch and kept in the system's protected area (Keystore on Android, Keychain on iPhone).
- Who sees it: only you. The app doesn't send this data to us or to third parties; the only exceptions are the generic, anonymous information described in sections 5, 7 and 8.
- Backups: the system's automatic backup is disabled for the app, because an encrypted copy could not be opened on another device. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, the data is permanently deleted. The file backup you can make from the app is saved where you choose and stays under your control.
- Reminders: deadline notifications are generated by the phone itself, without going through our servers.
- Preferences: language, country, units, currency, "private or business" and, if you set it, your town are stored only on the phone.
3. The optional account
If you create an account we process:
- Account data: email, password (stored only in non-reversible encrypted form), your name if you provide it, the confirmation of the minimum age and the version of the terms you accepted. To keep you signed in we store an access code, also only in encrypted form.
- Vehicle data: everything you enter in the app (vehicles, fill-ups with currency and units, expenses, meter readings, deadlines, maintenance checks), with creation and modification dates, to sync it across your devices and show it in the web version.
- Why: to provide the service you asked for by creating the account (legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Where: on the server of our hosting provider Aruba S.p.A., in Italy, acting as data processor. Communications between the app and the server are encrypted.
- How long: as long as you have the account. You can delete it at any time from the app (Settings, Account) or from the web version: the account and vehicle data are immediately and permanently deleted from the server. The data stays on your phone until you delete it.
4. Shared vehicles
The owner of a vehicle can share it with other people who have an account, inviting them by email as a collaborator or an employee. Invitees see the name of whoever invited them and, depending on their role, the vehicle data: a collaborator sees everything; an employee sees and edits only what they entered, without costs or totals. Every entry added by someone else shows the name or email of who added it. The owner can stop sharing, and invitees can leave the vehicle, at any time. If you delete your account, the entries you added to a shared vehicle stay with the vehicle's owner, no longer linked to your account.
5. Offers and advertising
The app is free and shows offers for our own products and from partner companies (for example spare parts, tyres, insurance). Every offer is marked "Ad" with the partner's name.
- How they are chosen: each time the app opens it downloads from our server the list of offers for your country and language, sending only country and language. Which offer to show is decided by the phone, based on the type of your vehicles, upcoming deadlines and checks (for example insurance expiring in a month), "private or business" and, if you set it, your town. This data is not sent to us or to partners to choose offers: there is no profiling.
- Anonymous counts: the app sends us how many times each offer was shown and tapped, together with the country. These are just numbers, with no identifiers of you, your phone or your account.
- When you tap an offer the partner's website opens in your browser. Some links include the make, model, year and fuel of the vehicle, to take you to suitable products: this data reaches the partner only if you tap the offer. From then on the partner website's privacy policy applies, and it may use its own cookies, for example to recognise that you came from us (affiliate links). We may earn a commission on purchases, but the partner doesn't tell us who bought.
- Images and videos of offers are stored on our server: opening the app doesn't contact partner websites.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest in funding the free app with non-profiled advertising (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can close an offer with the ×: it stays hidden until the app is opened again.
6. Your town, optional
Where available, you can set your town in Settings. We use it only to show you offers from businesses in your area, such as garages, body shops and inspection centres. Your town stays on the phone and is not sent to anyone: the app downloads the local offers for the whole country and checks itself which ones are near you. You can remove it at any time; if you don't set it you only see national offers. The list of towns with coordinates is included in the app (open data from ISTAT and AgID).
7. Anonymous usage statistics
Each time the app opens it sends our server an anonymous message, to know how many people use it and to present its audience to advertisers in aggregate form only. It contains: the date; whether it is the first use of the day, week and month on that phone; the month of installation; country, language, device type and app version; whether you have an account; "private or business"; how many vehicles you have and of which type, and their fuels; which deadlines are within 30 days and which maintenance checks are due.
It does not contain your name, email, phone or account identifiers, number plate, town, or the make or model of your vehicles. To tell the first use of the day, week and month the phone only remembers the date of the last message, which is not an identifier. We don't store the IP address with this data and don't combine it with other data: it cannot be traced back to you. Messages are kept for at most 25 months. As this is anonymous data, it doesn't require consent; storing the date on the phone is an audience measurement tool that European authorities treat like technical ones.
8. Exchange rates
If you record a fill-up or expense in a currency other than your main one, the app asks our server for the European Central Bank reference rates for the dates of those entries. Only the dates reach the server, not the amounts or anything else. Our server downloads the rates from the ECB's public website: the ECB receives none of your data.
9. Reports
If you send us a report from the app we receive the text you write, your email if you provide it or are signed in, the app version, the device type and the screen you are writing from. To prevent abuse we also store a non-reversible encrypted fingerprint of your IP address, used only to limit the number of reports. We use this data to reply and fix problems (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and keep it for as long as needed to handle the report.
10. This website and server logs
The quantumecusti.com website doesn't use cookies, contains no analytics tools and doesn't load resources from other sites. In the web version of the app, if you sign in, the browser keeps the access code and your preferences in its local storage: this is a strictly necessary technical tool, cleared when you sign out.
Like any website, the server records in technical logs the IP address, date, time and page requested, including for the app requests described in sections 5, 7 and 8. Logs are used for operation and security (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), we don't use them to link statistics or offers to a person, they are managed by the hosting provider Aruba S.p.A. as data processor and kept by Aruba as required by law and for the period set by its security systems.
11. Where data is stored and who receives it
Data that reaches our server is stored in Italy, in the European Union. If you use the app from another country, your account data is therefore transferred to Italy, where it is protected by the GDPR. We don't sell, rent or trade personal data with anyone and don't disclose it to third parties, except the technical providers that help us run the service (hosting) and where required by law or by legitimate requests from authorities.
12. If you live outside the European Union
We apply the same rules and the same GDPR rights to everyone, wherever they live. In addition:
- United Kingdom and Switzerland: you have the rights provided by the UK GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), which correspond to those in section 14.
- United States (California and other states with privacy laws): we don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, we don't use sensitive information and we don't do profiling. You can ask us to know what data we hold, to correct it or to delete it, with no discrimination for asking.
- Brazil (LGPD), Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India and other countries: you can exercise your rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection as described in section 14, and contact the data protection authority of your country.
13. Children
The app is not intended for children. To create an account you must be at least 14, or the higher age set in your country for using online services on your own (for example 16 in some European countries; in the United States we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13). If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
14. Your rights
You have the right to request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15–22 GDPR), by writing to info@lacibernetica.it. We reply within 30 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the country where you live.
15. Changes
If the app later offers features that involve processing data differently from what is described here, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent. The new version is published here with its update date, and significant changes are shown to you in the app.
